In the morning of December 10^th, the signing ceremony for the donation of “Everbright Scholarship” was held at Jiangnan University. This project was initiated by Wuxi Everbright International Trade Co., Ltd and the College of Textile Science and Engineering in Jiangnan University. Attendees included: the chairman of Wuxi Everbright Hengming Fan, the general manager Yifeng Fan, the deputy general manager Zhenglong Huang, the vice president of Jiangnan University Linghao Zhang, the minister of student affairs Jingyan Zhang, the party secretary of Textile Science and Engineering College Jing Zhang, the deputy secretary Yanjun Chen, the vice dean Fenglin Huang. The ceremony was hosted by the director of Social Resources Department, Huang Min.

The event began with an introduction of the background of this donation. Jing Zhang, the speaker, described the competitive advantages of Jiangnan University’s textile college in cultivating talents, research, and knowledge exchange, and explained how Everbright’s donation will be used.
Then, witnessed by the guests from both sides, Secretary Jing Zhang and Chairman Hengming Fan signed the donation agreement; and Minister Jingyan Zhang and General Manager Yifeng Fan announced that Wuxi Everbright would start an internship program with the textile college. A donation certificated was awarded to Wuxi Everbright.

Chairman Hengming Fan briefly introduced Everbright’s history and current strategy and operation. He emphasized that the company had always practiced its core values of “sharing and creating” and had actively participated in social welfare activities. He also mentioned that Everbright was constantly exploring the “four in one” school-enterprise cooperation mode and hope to contribute to the development of local universities. The donation made this time would lay a solid foundation for the long-term collaboration between Everbright and Jiangnan University. Hopefully, the scholarship will encourage the students to innovate, and the internship program will allow students to gain some social experiences.

At the ceremony, Everbright donated one million Chinese yuan to reward outstanding students majoring in textile science and engineering, design, or business at Jiangnan University. Students would be selected based on their academic excellence, all-round development, as well as family difficulties. Everbright and the university agreed that this would be the starting point to make join efforts to cultivate high-quality talents with innovative mindset and social responsibility.
